How experienced are your drivers? |
|
Most of our drivers have been with Woods Coaches
for many years and their experience is second to none. Each one
has passed a CRB check and in addition they attend training
courses in Customer Care, Defensive Driving and Training from
the Institute of Advanced Motorists, to ensure that their skills
are right up to date. |
|
|
|
We are closely monitored by the Department of Transport who do
regular spot checks on our depot, vehicles and drivers’
tachographs (making sure they comply with the EEC driver’s hours
regulations). |
|
|
|
We supply drivers to you with a welcoming smile, a warm
personality and a smart uniform. |
|
|
|
How safe are your vehicles? |
|
Your safety is paramount to us.
Our fleet consists of Highliner Volvo Luxury
Coaches or Neoplan Starliner Coaches chosen with your comfort
and safety in mind.
Safety features include seat belts fitted to all
seats, secondary electric braking systems and ABS.
Our coaches are maintained to
such a high standard that you can be assured of a safe and
comfortable journey in a reliable, roadworthy vehicle.
-
Before every journey, each coach is checked
to make sure that it is ready for the road.
-
A more detailed inspection is carried out
every 4 weeks in accordance with specifications set by the
Ministry for Transport. This exceeds the legal requirement
that coaches should be inspected at 6-weekly intervals.
-
Vehicles are examined by highly qualified
mechanics in our on-site garage and maintenance
department.
-
All of our mechanics have attended the
Vehicle Inspectorate’s “PSV Inspection Procedures and
Standards” course.
-
In addition, most
of our drivers have been with Woods Coaches for many years
and their experience is second to none. They attend
training courses in Customer Care, Defensive Driving and
Training for the Institute of Advanced Motorists, to ensure
that their skills are right up to date.

What happens if the coach does
break down? |
|
In the unlikely event of a breakdown, we have 24-hour back
up/road cover with Action Volvo, DKV and Michelin.
In addition, being a member of the Guild of British Coach
Operators means that we have fellow associates based around the
UK who are able to supply rescue coaches should the need arise.
This means that whether you are in the UK or on the Continent,
replacement drivers, vehicles, maintenance help and assistance
are available 365 days a year.
If you were to be delayed by one of our vehicles on the day of
your outing by more than half an hour due to a mechanical
problem, then we will give you that day’s hire money back
and we will still make sure that you get to your
chosen destination as well. |
