Gloucestershire has a wealth of historic attractions, heritage and celebrated gardens. But arguably nothing more special than the Royal country house which stands in Tetbury, exclusively enjoyed by HRH The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall – Highgrove. Join us on our day trip for a look at the private gardens…
HRH The Prince of Wales acquired Highgrove in 1980 who has since ceaselessly worked to transform the once bleak landscape, and has captured his environmental philosophy throughout the gardens. Testament to his creativity and imagination, today it is billed as one of the most innovative gardens of our time in the UK.
The Garden Tours invite you through a series of highly individual gardens led by one of the expert guides. The eclectic grounds include a Kitchen Garden, Woodland Garden, Walled Garden, Cottage Garden and a wild flower meadow.
There will also be time to visit the Estate Shop and take home a souvenir or browse the carefully chosen products influenced by the interests of HRH The Prince of Wales.
A garden tour which lasts approximately two hours and is a walk of about 2 miles. Visitors with walking difficulties should be aware that some paths are unmade. We suggest you wear stout shoes and suitable clothing as the tours continue during wet weather. Includes admission with all proceeds paid to the Prince’s Charities Foundation.
Whether it’s a special gift or unique day out for yourself, it’s an inspiring ‘must-see’ experience for gardening enthusiasts.
