Scotland's Big 5 Safari - Fort William
The opportunity to look out for elusive wildlife and discover remarkable scenery beckons on this unique tour, with exceptional experiences to get close to nature. Highlights include an awe-inspiring Rover safari in an ancient pine forest, the spectacular Isle of Skye, Glen Righ Forest and cruises along Loch Shiel and Loch Linnhe.
Day 1 Departure: 0600 – 0645 hrs, making comfort stops en-route. Hotel check-in. Dinner is included for the next 5 nights.
Day 2 Highland Land Rover Safari
Travel to Highland Safaris near the market town of Aberfeldy and enjoy a Rover Forest Safari in the company of a ranger. Take a short walk into the ancient pine forest to search for signs of red squirrel, roe deer and red deer. Return to the centre, visit the red deer barn where we will come face to face with these amazing creatures.
Day 3 Loch Shiel
Travel to Glenfinnan and board the MV Sileas for a cruise on Loch Shiel. The rest of the day is spent in Fort William. The town centre offers excellent local retailers, enveloped by majestic views of Loch Linnhe and shadowed by the foothills of Ben Nevis.
Day 4 The Isle of Skye, Armadale Castle Gardens, The Kyle of Lochalsh
Travel to Mallaig and take the ferry across to Armadale. Visit Armadale Castle Gardens. Travel to the Kyle of Lochalsh for cruise aboard the Seaprobe Atlantis, Scotland’s only semi-submersible glass bottom boat. Accompanied by the best guides, we pass Seal Island, look for Otters along the coast, explore underwater to see the kelp forest and sea creatures. Travel over the Skye Bridge to visit the hidden Otter Haven on the Isle of Skye.
Day 5 Glen Righ Forest and Loch Linnhe
Travel in small groups from the hotel to visit Glen Righ Forest in search of red squirrels. In the afternoon, head to the shores of Loch Linnhe for our cruise aboard Souters Lass with the chance to spot porpoise, harbour and grey seals and maybe even a golden
eagle. Return to hotel.
Day 6 Early breakfast. Departure, making comfort stops en-route. Arrive home: late evening.
